Hawthorne parent Philippa Dowding has announced the publication of her new book, The Gargoyle in my yard.

Set in the neighbourhood around the school, the story follows the troubles of twelve-year-old Katherine as she tries to rid her backyard of a 400-year-old gargoyle. He’s naughty. He’s mean. He gets her into trouble. And she must either convince him to leave, or somehow befriend him.
 
In the coming weeks, Philippa will be reading selections from The Gargoyle in my yard to students at Hawthorne, Essex and other local schools.
